Hi @MB3668,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're stoked to have you on board!

To help us get started on resolving your issue, could you please share the model name of your device?

Meanwhile, you can try the steps.

1. Check Network Connection

Ensure your laptop is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the printer.

Some routers have separate 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks; the printer may only support 2.4 GHz.

Disable any VPNs or firewall software temporarily that could block network printing.

2. Verify Printer Settings

On the printer, check Wireless or Network settings to confirm it’s connected and has an IP address.

Print a network configuration page from the printer menu to see its IP.

3. Add Printer to Laptop

On Windows 11: Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners > Add device.

Select your printer if it appears.

If it doesn’t appear, choose “The printer I want isn’t listed” → Add a printer using the TCP/IP address, and enter the IP from the network configuration page.

4. Check Firewall & Antivirus

Some security software blocks network printers.

Temporarily disable the firewall/antivirus and try printing.

If it works, create an allow rule for your printer’s IP.

5. Update Printer Drivers

Visit the printer manufacturer’s website and download the latest driver for your laptop’s OS.

Install the driver and restart your laptop.

6. Test Connectivity

Open Command Prompt and run:

ping [printer IP address]

If you get replies, the laptop can see the printer on the network.

If not, check Wi-Fi network settings, router isolation, or restart both printer and laptop.

7. Try HP Smart / Manufacturer App

Use HP Smart (or the printer’s app) on the laptop to detect the printer and print a test page.

These apps sometimes fix network detection issues automatically.

I hope this helps.
