Hi @Chikun,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP DeskJet 2742e All-in-One Printer is receiving the print job but not producing a printout, try the following troubleshooting steps:
1. Check Printer Status
- Ensure the printer is powered on and no error messages (e.g., paper jam, out of ink) are displayed on the printer screen or in the HP Smart app.
- Check the printer’s network connection if it is wirelessly connected (WiFi or Ethernet). Make sure it's not showing as offline in Windows or the app.
2. Cancel Print Jobs and Restart
- Cancel all print jobs in the printer queue.
- In Windows, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click your printer, and select See what’s printing. Then cancel all jobs.
- Restart both your printer and computer.
3. Check Ink Levels
- Open the HP Smart app or the printer control panel to check if the ink cartridges have sufficient ink.
- Replace low or empty cartridges if necessary.
4. Ensure Paper Is Loaded Correctly
- Double-check that the paper tray is properly loaded with paper.
- Ensure the paper is aligned correctly to avoid any feed issues.
5. Run Printer Diagnostic Tools
- HP Print and Scan Doctor is a useful diagnostic tool that can detect and resolve printing issues.
- Download and run it from the HP website.
6. Driver Issues
- Ensure the printer driver is up to date. You can reinstall the driver by:
- Downloading the latest version from HP's support page.
7. Test with Another Document
- Try printing a test page or another document to rule out issues with the specific file.
Refer to this document: HP DeskJet 2742e All-in-One Printer User manual
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hi Gaya,
I have the same issue: below is the result of the diagnosis:
No test could be conducted, as if there was no connection with the printer. WHen I send a document to print, I hear the print react, one short movement of roller, then, nothing. Nothing in the spooler, nothing in the waiting list of printer's job.
I have done every step suggested, but same result: no print!!! Can you help please!
