HP Officejet 100 Mobile Printer
macOS 10.13 High Sierra

When printer turned on and getting ready to print, makes grinding noises, amber light goes on indicating that right (black) cartridge has a problem.  I have taken it out, cleaned it but no change.  Sometimes the cartridges move easily and sometimes jerkily and noisy.  The printer is out of warranty.  My question:  Is there anything I can do to fix it or should I just replace it.  Would it cost more to repair it than replace it?  Thank you.  Newk 1

Thank you for your kind e-mail.  I have tried all of the suggestions on the link you gave, several times, except for having

it serviced.  I did change the black cartridge and that light no longer blinks.  The cartridge doesn't seem to move freely
all the time.  The last time I tried to print, no warning lights were on,  I just heard a grinding noise and the paper wouldn't go through.  It has been making that noise for a short time but just a couple days ago quit printing altogether.

Thank you for your quick reply.  After I posted on the Forum I called and talked with HP phone support.  They told me I needed to take it to have it serviced.  I have found in the past that repairing is about as expensive as buying a new one, so I will ask about repair but will probably end up buying a new mobile printer.  Thank you so very much for your good help.
