Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello all. Needing some help please.  I have an HP Photosmart 5224 printer and have an issue. So when I try to print a document (a letter so essentially printing black) generated in Microsoft Word, there are lines half printed or missing. The cartridges are not empty. Strangely enough my partner can print to that same printer from his laptop with no issues but when I sent him my letter to print for me, the lines were blurred/ missing, etc, again. This suggested to me it was an issue with Word although I can print my letter perfectly if I use blue ink! I tried generating a document using Open Office instead of Word .. exactly the same issue with the black ink! I have tried printing from my iPad and all is fine. I'm just not sure if the issue is with Word or with my desktop and what to try. My printer drivers are up to date and I have had no recent updates to anything.

@Nicki_L Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you are facing the Printer missing lines issue.

In that case, I would suggets you reinstall the Microsoft office and check.

Also, check for Windows Updates -

1) In the search box, type, and open Windows Updates.

2) Check for updates.

3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.
