HP Deskjet 2710

We have installed a new printer, HP Deskjet 2710, and it workes fine for a while. When the printer has not been in use for a while it goes in to some sort of sleep mode and we can not get it to work (the lights are still on). The printer is no longer available and nothing happens when we push the buttons. The only solution is to unplug it and install it again. After that it works fine again for a while. Is there a solution for this or is there a technical problem with the printer?

@Tfm930mj

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

  1. Open the embedded web server (EWS). For more information, see Open the embedded web server on page 35.
  2. Click the Settings tab.
  3. In the Power Management section, click Energy Save Mode, and select the desired option.
    NOTE: If prompted for a password, enter the PIN from the label on your printer. It might be near the cartridge access area inside the printer or on the back, side, or bottom of the printer.
  4. Click Apply.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi

Thanks for your answer. Unfortunately I could not get it to work. I think I managed to find an IP adress for the printer, but when I typed it in to my browser it could not find the page. I probably did something wrong, I am not very good at this technical stuff unfortunately..

Could you help me and tell me step by step how to try again.
