How can HP not provide updated drivers for a 3 or 4 year printer?
It is not serious

Exactly my point and frustration.  You have stated the million dollar question.

On on another note, I retract a previous comment I made earlier in this thread in which I stated that I would never buy another HP printer; well, I did just that.  Despite my frustration with the lack of driver support for my Laserjet, after researching my options, I just went ahead and ended up buy an HP officejet 5255.  It was $60, is compatible with Mac Mojave OS, prints wirelessly and seems to be adequate for my basic printing needs.

Recently upgraded a MacAir and a Mac desktop to Mojave.  Cannot seem to print or scan.

Installing HP Printer Drivers v5.1 for OS X worked for me!

I had the same problem with my old HP Deskjet F300 All-in-one (2006 I believe) and a brand new Macbook Pro. After installing the driver and software that I have saved for years for this printer I was unable to print files either from the web, preview or Photoshop but I was able to print the test page from the printer utilities for some reason. Then downloaded the HP Printer Drivers v5.1 for OS X and after installing them ( installation took longer than expected btw ) the printer was once again recognized and was able to print normally. The latter install also replaced/erased the software/utilities from the first drivers I installed.

Hope this helps!

The patch you can download from Don Eddie, something like patch 5.1 REALLY works!  And I have an old HP4500.

Took a long while to install, but it worked!  So glad because I was just about ready to go buy a new printer.

Thank you Don Eddie!
