Hi @sebagodave,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I understand your HP Envy 6555e is not recognized by your Windows 11 PC using Firefox, even though other devices print fine over the same Wi-Fi network. Let’s go through some troubleshooting steps.
1. Verify Printer on Network
Make sure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your PC.
Print a Network Configuration Page from the printer to confirm IP address and connection status.
2. Use HP Smart or Windows Driver Instead of Firefox
Firefox itself doesn’t handle printing; it relies on the Windows print system.
Open HP Smart app or Windows Settings > Printers & Scanners and see if the 6555e is listed.
If not listed, click Add a printer or scanner → wait for Windows to detect the printer.
3. Restart Windows Print Spooler
Press Win + R, type services.msc, press Enter.
Find Print Spooler, right-click → Restart.
Try printing again from Firefox or another application.
4. Check Firewall / Antivirus
Windows Firewall or third-party antivirus may block printer discovery.
Temporarily disable firewall/antivirus, then try adding the printer again.
If it works, add an exception for HP printing software.
5. Install the Full HP Printer Driver
Go to HP Support → HP Envy 6555e → Drivers & Downloads.
Download full-feature driver for Windows 11, not just the default Windows driver.
Install the driver while connected to the printer’s Wi-Fi.
6. Test with a Direct IP Connection
On the Network Configuration Page, note the printer’s IP address.
In Windows, go to Add a printer → The printer I want isn’t listed → Add a printer using TCP/IP address.
Enter the printer IP and complete setup.
I hope this helps.
I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" Your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster! 👍✨
Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀

Thank you for your help. I did use some of your suggestions, up to a point.
But did more investigating on my wife’s PC, which I rarely use.
Eventually got access to Printer/Drivers page and realized that there was an older HP Envy still listed and with an open printing queue!
Eliminated both of those and made sure that our newer 6555 e was listed and then printed a test page !
Voila! Success !
Best regards,
Dave
