Printer will not stay online.  Have to turn it on and off everyday to re-connect it to the network.  The printer shows it is connected to the network and HP Connected reflects the same, however applications running on Dell Windows PC that is connected to the network show it to be offline.

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Support Community.

Can you try using a TCP/IP port?

Create a TCP IP port

1. Print a Configuration Page to get the printer's IPv4 address (you can also tap on the wireless icon on the Front panel of your Printer to get the IP address)
2. On your PC, go to Control Panel, from Devices and Printers, right click the printer and left click Printer Properties, select the Ports tab.
3. Click Add Port, select Standard TCP/IP Port, then select New Port and follow the wizard.
4. Type in the proper IP address for the printer.

This video resource will show you how to do it:

Create & Use TCP IP port

Note that you can ALWAYS revert back to the original port that the HP software installed by selecting the HP port under the Ports tab (in Printer Properties)

Hope that helps!

Thank you for your response.  I will give that a try and confirm back whether it worked or not.

The solution outlined below did not solve the problem.

My PC says it is successfully connected to the wireless network.  When I look at the printer port under printer properties, it is shows the same IP address as the printer.  Yet, the printer is showing up as "offline".

Next suggestion?

HI,

Even though it shows "Offline", have you tried printing?  Does it print or remains Offline?

Thanks.

It will not print, I receive back an error "printer offline" (even thought the printer itself shows it is connected to my wireless network).

THIS HAPPENS EVERY DAY!

Finishing my message below ... this happens every day, sometimes multiple times in a day.  I have to physically shut down my printer and restart it in order for the my PC to recognize it as online.  Note: I've already gone through the steps to manually add the IP Address for the printer port.  That did not solve the problem.
