Hi everyone,
I recently bought the HP Envy printer and haven’t had any issues until now. However, when I tried printing on heavier A4 paper, the printer suddenly started printing only half of the page.
I’ve double-checked that the paper size is correctly set on my PC, so that doesn’t seem to be the problem. I also tried selecting various paper types in the printer settings, but nothing has helped so far.
Has anyone experienced something similar or know what I can try to fix this?
Thanks in advance!

Hi @tveebs,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding incomplete printing on the HP ENVY Inspire 7220e!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Paper Type and Settings:
- Ensure that you have selected the correct paper type in the printer settings. Heavier papers may require a different setting than standard paper.
- Navigate to the printer settings on your computer and select the exact paper type you are using.
Printer Software and Driver Updates:
- Check for any updates to your printer software or drivers. You can find updates on the HP Support website.
Check the Paper Path and Rollers:
- Inspect the paper path and rollers for any debris or obstruction that might prevent the paper from feeding correctly.
- Clean the rollers with a lint-free cloth if necessary.
Print Quality Settings:
- Try adjusting the print quality settings. A higher quality print setting might affect how heavier papers are fed or processed.
Test with Standard Paper:
- Attempt to print the same document on standard paper to see if the problem persists. This can help determine if the issue is with the printer or specifically with the heavier paper.
Printer Firmware Update:
- Ensure you have the latest firmware version installed for your printer. Firmware updates may address known issues with paper handling.
Reducing Print Speed:
- Heavier papers may benefit from a slower print speed. Check if your printer settings allow you to adjust the print speed.
I hope this helps.
