Hi @Viv43,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I know how frustrating it can be when your HP Smart Tank 7200e printer just won’t connect to your Mac, especially when everything else seems to be working fine. Let’s walk through the steps together to get your printer and Mac talking again.

Step-by-Step: Connect HP Smart Tank 7200e to Mac

1. Check Wi-Fi Connection

Make sure:

  • Your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Mac.
  • The blue wireless light on the printer is solid (not blinking).

If it’s not connected:

  • On the printer, press and hold the Wireless button until the light starts blinking.
  • On your router, press the WPS button within 2 minutes.
  • Wait for the wireless light to turn solid.

2. Add the Printer on macOS

  1. On your Mac, go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
  2. Click the Add Printer (+) button.
  3. Look for your printer in the list (it may show as HP Smart Tank 7200 series or Bonjour).
  4. Select it and click Add.

If it doesn’t show up:

  • Make sure your Mac is connected to the same Wi-Fi.
  • Restart both the printer and your Mac.

3. Use HP App (Recommended)

The HP app gives you full control over setup and scanning:

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
