envy photo 6220
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Good morning.

Having unsuccessully spent two hours trying to resolve a scanning issue with my Envy 6220 and  a driver issue with my OfficeJet 7612, can anyone give me the phone number or email address for the relevant HP department please.

For the 6220, i've gone through the Scan Doctor, re-installed the driver and printer etc but the Scan still does not work.  The actual printer does.  I bought the 6220 as an emergency replacement last autumn when my 7612 stopped working.

For the 7612, I bought it in January 2018 and it stopped working last autumn.  At first, I thought it was the power adaptor so I bought I new one but I have the same problem - the unit powers up for half a second and then dies.  And now, of course, HP Online Support (an oxymoron so far in my opinion) says that the unit is beyond gurantee.  I would hope that HP can check that the unit hasn't been used for months and will honour the guarantee.

Overall, I think the units are beyond technical help and that both of them have died before the expected 14-month lifespan of modern printers.

Many thanks for your help and attention.

@Villecerf550,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Are you able to make a copy on Envy 6220?

Meanwhile, I recommend you follow the below steps and check if it helps.

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  2. Remove USB cable, if present.
  3. Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
  4. Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
  5. Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

Please follow the below steps to contact support and check the available service options for your printer

Here is how you can get in touch with tech support.

1)Click on this link – www.hp.com/contacthp/

2)Select the product type.

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.

4)Select the country from the drop-down.

5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
