HP ENVY 4512
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When I try to open the printer properties, it will not open and I get an error message

undefined

Once I close this error, I have to use task manager to kill a web browser if I try to open preferences there.

Or, I have to use task manager to restart windows explorer if I try to open printer preferences.

This is after a fresh install using the driver package on hp.com

The reason I needed to get into printing preferences, everything prints black only...even test pages.

Windows 10 x64 v1703 build 15063.413

HP driver ver 40.11 file EN4510_Full_WebPack_1122.exe

EDIT: Drivers that come on the installation CD does not produce this error.

Also prints in color now with the installation CD drivers.

However, I will not be able to keep current with drivers until a solution is discovered.

Welcome to the HP Forums. I would be happy to help you with your HP ENVY 4512 printer. I understand that you are getting a 0xe06d7363 error message and you have already done some preliminary troubleshooting.

Don't worry though as I have a few steps to determine the issue and find a solution as well,

Uninstall the printer driver and install it again.

  1. If your printer connects to the computer with a USB cable, disconnect the cable from the printer.

  2. Search Windows for programs and features, and then click Programs and Features in the list of results.

  3. In the list of installed programs, click your HP printer name, and then click Uninstall or Yes.

  4. If a User Account Control message displays, click Yes.

  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the software removal.

  6. After the software uninstall is complete, restart the computer.

Download and install the full feature driver.

Click here and type the printer model number to download the driver.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers.

Please don't just stop at the error message as my problem.

The most current driver from the web causes the issue.

Ergo, my comment listing my config:

Windows 10 x64 v1703 build 15063.413

HP driver ver 40.11 file EN4510_Full_WebPack_1122.exe

EDIT: Drivers that come on the installation CD does not produce this error.

Also prints in color now with the installation CD drivers.

Thanks 😄

Thanks for the reply.

I appreciate your time and effort.

I understand that the drivers in installation CD do not give any errors.

Only the drivers from website cause the issue.

Please provide the website link from where you downloaded the driver.

Meanwhile:

Install the drivers on the installation CD.

Restart the computer and check the printer properties.

Keep me posted.

Cheers.

As stated in my previous posts:

HP driver ver 40.11 file EN4510_Full_WebPack_1122.exe

And, the drivers from the CD are installed as I also stated earlier.

Otherwise, how could I know that the drivers on the installation CD works?

I need a solution as to why the updated driver does not work so I can stay current.

Also, please note this happens on 2 different computers, same OS version and same temp solution.

Thanks for the response.

I understand the issue better now.

It could be a compatibility issue with the operating system environment on your PC.

One or more applications might be creating an issue.

Cheers.

Can you please escalate to 3LS printing software developers for a solution?
