About every 10 minutes, my HP Deskjet prints out about 10 lines of text starting with "GET /DevMgmt/ProductStatusDyn.xml HTTP/1.1....." What it prints out resembles the old pre-Windows batch files with which you could you to get your PC to do things like copy files, print out files, etc.
I see the commands: "GET" and "POST" along with some parameters. It looks like the computer is gathering data then posting via the printer. It then does not issue a page break command so that the printer sits there and blinks, awaiting the next command from the PC. Eventually, the page is ejected when other commands are received. Disconnection the printer stops it.
I don't believe this is a problem originating from the printer. There is some reporting routine that the computer is executing and using the printer to post the report.
All the boiler-plate suggestions like printer re-installation or spooler cycling don't work because they don't address the cause.
What subroutine is the computer running and how do we stop it?
