Tip: Here is what finally worked for me:  AI response abbreviated below:

 

The solution to printer screen stuck message: "The software is setting up the printer." was:

1) Open HP Smart App

2) Click on photo of your printer

3) Printer Setting will open

4 ) Click Print Quality Tools and select Align Printer.

5) Follow instructions on printer control screen

6) Clear the error. Wait until the error on printer control screen clears

7) Return to your printer's home page in HP Smart and click "Finish Setup"

😎 Follow on-screen instructions: Complete any additional instructions shown to finalize printer setup.
