I cannot connect my Mac to the Envy 6430e printer. The software doesn't work with my mac and Iv'e tried to connect as per your instructions to a previous customer - by pressing the wifi button on the printer for five seconds until the purple light flashes and then pressing the wifi connect button on my router for five seconds. They are not talking to each other. Please can you advise another way I can set this up? It's crazy that this isn't easy !

Hi @Jo177,
I'd like to help!
I understand you are unable to connect the printer to wireless network.
Connect the printer with the HP Smart app
Use HP Smart to connect the printer to your wireless network.
-
Turn on the printer.
-
Download and install HP Smart (in English) from the App Store.
-
On the back of the printer, press and hold the Wireless button
for 3 seconds.
Wireless light only blinks twice and then turns off. Edge lighting array pulses blue, flashes white, and then pulses purple until network setup begins on device.
NOTE:
You must complete the network setup within two hours.
-
On your computer, open HP Smart, and then click the Plus sign
.
HP Smart searches for printers on your wireless network.
-
Select your printer, and then click Continue.
-
When prompted, type the WEP or WPA key (network password).
If you do not know your network password, go to Find Your Wireless WEP, WPA, WPA2 Password.
-
After the printer connects to your wireless network, click Continue, and then click Exit Setup.
Once the printer connects to the wireless network, the blue Wireless light on the control panel turns on solid.
OR
Connect the printer with Wi-Fi Direct
Wi-Fi Direct is a connection option when a local wireless network is not available or for guest printing.
Print a Wi-Fi Direct Help page that includes connection setup instructions. Touch and hold the Information button until the other control panel buttons light up, and then touch the Information
and Cancel
buttons at the same time to print the page.
-
Touch the Information
, Cancel
, and Resume
buttons to turn Wi-Fi Direct on your printer.
-
Go to Wi-Fi settings on your computer and select your printer such as HP=Setup<93_Envy 6000 series.
NOTE:
If your printer is not visible in the wireless networks, turn off the Wi-Fi settings on your computer and try again.
Go to Printing with Wi-Fi Direct to set up the printer connection to your Windows computer.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
