Hi @Luz61896189,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with the setup of your HP DeskJet 4158e printer step by step.
Step 1: Download the HP Smart App
- Download HP Smart:
- If you haven't installed the HP Smart app, you can download it from the HP Smart App Website.
- You can also download it from the Microsoft Store if you're on Windows or the Apple App Store for Mac and mobile devices.
Step 2: Open the HP Smart App and Start Setup HP printer setup (HP Smart app)
- Sign In or Create an Account (if required) on the app.
- Add a New Printer:
- Open the app, and on the main screen, select Set up a New Printer.
- Ensure your printer is powered on and in WiFi setup mode. If it's not, you can reset it by pressing the WiFi button and Cancel button together for 3 seconds.
- HP Smart should search for your printer.
Step 3: Printer Setup Using HP Smart
- Choose Your Printer from the list.
- Connect the Printer to WiFi: Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your WiFi network. Make sure your computer or mobile device is also connected to the same network.
- Enter your WiFi password if prompted.
If you are unable to click the button on the web page, there could be some issue with browser compatibility or the HP Smart App itself. Here are some troubleshooting tips:
Troubleshooting
- Try a Different Browser: If the setup webpage is unresponsive, try using a different browser like Google Chrome, Firefox, or Edge.
- Restart the Setup Process:
- Close the HP Smart app or the webpage and reopen it.
- Restart the printer and retry the steps mentioned above.
- Clear Cache and Cookies: If using a browser, clear the cache and cookies, as they might be causing the page to behave incorrectly.
- Try a Mobile Device: You can also install the HP Smart app on a mobile device and use it for setup if the issue persists on your computer.

I hope this helps.
