I have just installed a new HP8130e series printer and on completion of installation it tells me it cant find a driver.  Help!

1. Download and Install the Latest Driver:

Ensure you have the most recent driver compatible with your operating system.

Visit the HP Support Website:

  • Navigate to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads.
  • Enter "HP OfficeJet Pro 8130e" in the search box and select your printer model.

Select Your Operating System:

  • Choose your computer's operating system from the provided list.

Download the Driver:

  • Locate the "Driver-Product Installation Software" section.
  • Click on the "Download" button to obtain the latest driver.

Install the Driver:

  • Once downloaded, open the file and follow the on-screen instructions to install the driver.

2. Use the HP Smart App:

The HP Smart App can simplify the setup process.

Download the App:

  • Visit the HP Smart App page and download the app suitable for your operating system.

Install and Run the App:

  • Open the app and follow the prompts to detect and set up your printer.

3. Verify Printer Connection:

Ensure that your printer is properly connected to your computer.

For USB Connection:

  • Confirm that the USB cable is securely connected to both the printer and the computer.

For Wireless Connection:

    • Open the application and follow the on-screen instructions to troubleshoot the problem.

6. Reinstall the Printer:

Removing and reinstalling the printer can resolve driver issues.

Remove the Printer:

  • On your computer, navigate to "Devices and Printers."
  • Right-click on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8130e and select "Remove device."

Reinstall the Printer:

  • Click on "Add a printer" and follow the prompts to reinstall it.
