I have been choosing the print on both sides option before printing. It had worked before occasionally but now I am getting 120 pages when I wanted 60 so my paper consumption has gone up tremendously. I can't get through to an actual person to talk to either. As well as some documents printing 3 pages then stopping when the whole document is selected.  I've wasted about 100 or so pages from my plan from errors.

Any help or advice would be great

Hi @Zikel,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're experiencing issues with your printer settings, particularly with the double-sided printing option and incomplete document printing. Here's a list of steps to help resolve these issues:

Check Printer Settings:

  • Ensure that the print on both sides (duplex printing) option is enabled in your printer's settings. You can do this through the printer properties dialog box on your computer.
  • Go to “Control Panel” > “Devices and Printers” (or "Printers & Scanners" in Windows 10/11).
  • Right-click on your printer and select “Printer Properties.”
  • Look for a setting related to “Duplex,” “Print on both sides,” or “Two-sided printing.” Ensure it is checked or selected.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Outdated or corrupt drivers may cause printing issues. Visit the HP Official HP® Support to download and install the latest drivers for your specific printer model.

Print Queue Management:

  • Clear any stuck print jobs, as this could be causing new print jobs to be interrupted. Open the print queue from the "Devices and Printers" or the printer icon on your system tray, and cancel or delete all existing jobs.

Software Updates:

  • Ensure that your system's operating system is updated. Sometimes, OS updates can provide fixes for printing issues.

Printer's Firmware:

  • Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer. This can often fix bugs and improve functionality.

Test Print:

  • Try printing a test document to see if the issue persists. Use a different application or a simple document to check whether the problem is specific to a certain type of file or software.

Reset the Printer:

  • Perform a reset on the printer. You can do this by turning off the printer, unplugging it, waiting for a minute, and then plugging it back in and turning it on.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
