Printer setup problems

Hello I have been trying to set up this printer and have followed the manual exactly. When I power it on it says add paper which I do then it begins to go into the alignment page mode then I get the error out of paper but it has paper and the papers in there like it should be I push okay it goes into alignment mode again then I get paper jam even though there's no paper jam so I clear it just keeps doing this over and over again and over
