HP LaserJet Pro M402dw

I replaced my Lenovo ThinkPad T450s with a new T14s.  The HP printer seems to install correctly.  In the Device List in indicates it is working properly.  However, the Device Manager is not seeing it - it is not in the Printer folder.  It worked fine on the old ThinkPad and I have two other PCs using it on the same Wi-fi network.  I have uninstalled and re-installed at least a dozens times.  When trying to print a test page I get an error message that "The system does not support the command requested".  The set-up is exactly the same as the old ThinkPad.  This looks to me like a configuration problem of some kind, but I have not been able to identify it.  The Print Dr tool was no help.  I have an Epson inkjet that is working properly and showing up in the Device Manager.
