HP ENVY 6055 All-In-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP Envy 6055 printer. It's an all in one and I hate it, but that's beside the point. Right now it has a problem so I am going through all the myriad troubleshooting, diagnostic and support software (getting no help at all, I hate this printer). So now the HP Support Assistant has popped a huge icon onto my taskbar with a question mark and an exclamation point over that. I opened it up and it tells me I have an important update for my "HP Envy 5540 All-in-One printer." I've been getting confusing references to a 5540 practically since I bought this thing. The picture it shows is of a completely different printer. I mean, really different. Can anybody explain this to me? Or shall I just throw it off the balcony onto the patio and get another brand? (I wouldn't really do that. It's a bluestone patio and those pavers break easily.)

 

(I loved my previous HP Printer, but when I was upgraded to Windows 10 it stopped working right. Broke my heart.)

HP Support Assistant is not required to use the printer. Do you have any issues while printing or scanning using this model printer?

 

Use the HP Smart app instead. Or, you may reinstall the Support Assistant and check if that helps.
