HP OfficeJet 5252 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP print Officejet 5252. I used it with my old computer a HP Pavillion 15-cb0xx and the printer software works fine. I now have a HP Spectre x360 Convertible 15-eb1xxx and the same 5252 printer, however the software comes up so tiny I can 't read it and when I go to HP support it recommends that I use the App instead. My question is, has HP gone away from using its own printer software for the Spectre computer to using the App only? Honestly the App sucks because it doesn't have the same features as the older software but if that is the better option I need to know. The reason for this question is I kept getting the error message "Scan to computer disabled" but its not disabled.

@RBScott

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, it is the same procedure to install the software drivers on the HP Spectre x360 Convertible computer.

Let's try these steps to resolve the issue:

Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor: Follow steps from the link: Click here

Root level uninstall and reinstall printer drivers

  • Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP Officejet printer entries and uninstall them.
  • Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
  • Then press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" and press enter.
  • Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
  • Again, go to run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

To reinstall, click here.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
