I finished instalment and configuration of brand new printer. Connected to WiFi correctly and I tested the connection by printing docs from mobile iPhone - it works fine.
However, it won't print from Mac OS. The status shown is 'Idle' green colour. It takes the printing order and straightaway it says printing finished but without printing a thing. I see the printer is trying to do something when I press print and the paper does engage but it stops after that (ie, I guess the connection is established).
I have tried all the troubleshooting such as clearing the queue, resetting the printer, uninstall and reinstall software and drivers few times, checked all updates etc but all in vain.
Does this series hp deskjet 2710 meant to work at all with Mac OS? I have wasted very longtime already so anyone can support once and for all before this thing gets taken back to where it was bought from?
Thanks in advance

Welcome to HP Support Community!
Are you using the HP Smart App?
Let's try the below steps to see if that helps -
Could you perform a ping test using the Mac Terminal and let me know the results? Use the printer IP address to perform a ping test, the printer IP can be located by selecting the wireless icon on the printer display. Use the command Ping 192.168.0.1 after 10 pings ctrl c ( the IP mentioned here is just an example)
The wireless status menu on your Mac should also give us quite a lot of information that would help us identify the issue. You can press and hold option-click the WiFi icon and then use shift-command-5 to take the screenshot. Press the space bar when the icon turns into a camera. Share the ping test results and the screenshot with us.
Also, check with your Internet service provider if your router is able to forward 'Bonjour packets'. Bonjour locates devices such as printers, other computers, and the services that those devices offer on a local network using multicast Domain Name System (mDNS) service records. The software comes built-in with Apple's macOS and iOS operating systems.
Let me know if this helps.
