HP ENVY Photo 6234 All-in-One Printer

I have cancelled my instant ink subscription (which has now ended) and tried to remove the printer to give to my son but the printer is still showing as connected on the Instant Ink dashboard. It does not show on printers.

My son has tried to register it but is says it's still enrolled.

We have reset to factory and tried disabling web services and re-enabling but it gives us the same email.

How do I get rid of it?

@TJH88, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If you have cancelled your Instant Ink subscription for the HP ENVY Photo 6234 but it still appears connected on the Instant Ink dashboard, follow these steps to remove it completely and allow re-enrollment:

Steps to Officially Remove the Printer

Sign into HP Instant Ink Account

Verify Printer Serial Number

  • Go to Overview, and then select Printer Details in the Status area. Ensure you have the correct serial number noted.

Remove Printer from Instant Ink Account

  • In the left menu, click HP Instant Ink and then scroll to Plan Details.
  • Look for an option to Cancel my HP Instant Ink Subscription and follow the prompts.

Disable HP Web Services

On your printer, go to the Setup menu (or the settings menu).

Select HP Web Services and continue to disable them. Follow the prompts to complete the process.

Re-enable HP Web Services to reset it properly, but make sure to skip the part where it would be re-enrolled with the same email.

Reset to Factory Settings

Factory Reset your HP ENVY Photo 6234 if it hasn’t been already:

  • On the printer: Go to the Setup or Settings menu.
  • Select Printer Maintenance or Restore Defaults.
  • Follow the prompts to reset to factory settings.

Create New HP Account for Re-enrollment

  • Ensure your son has a new HP account that has not been associated with the cancelled printer.

Re-enroll the Printer

  • Follow the initial setup for the HP ENVY Photo 6234, and when prompted to enable HP Web Services, use the new HP account credentials.
