Hi @Vegimovies22,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
There could be a few reasons why your printer is turning on by itself.
- Scheduled tasks: Check if there are any scheduled tasks or print jobs set to run at certain times. Sometimes, printers are programmed to turn on automatically to complete these tasks.
- Network activity: If your printer is connected to a network, it might be receiving signals or commands from other devices on the network, causing it to turn on.
- Power fluctuations: Sometimes, power fluctuations or surges can trigger devices to turn on unexpectedly. Ensure that your printer is plugged into a stable power source and consider using a surge protector.
- Firmware updates: Some printers are designed to automatically turn on to install firmware updates. Check if there are any pending updates for your printer.
- Faulty power button or control panel: It's possible that there's a fault in the power button or control panel of your printer, causing it to turn on randomly. Try cleaning the control panel and checking for any physical damage.
- Environmental factors: Extreme temperatures or humidity levels can sometimes affect electronic devices and cause them to behave erratically. Ensure that your printer is placed in a stable environment with adequate ventilation.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
