Printer turns on when connected to power, without pushing the turn on button on the printer

Printer turns on when connected to power, without pushing the turn on button on the printer. I also change the socket where i plugged in the power cable. So, is this model designed like that or is it malfunctioning?

1. For new printer models like 8120e, 8125e and 8135e, they came designed to Power-On Automatically after connecting the power outlet.
