Hi, please can anyone help me?
Ive had nothing but trouble with setting up this printer from the start.
The last call i made to HP cost me £16 for a 20 min conversation so i won't be doing that again.
Anyway after this my printer has been working fine for nearly a year. Now all of a sudden my printer says "error setting up printer" when i choose my printer name on the document i am wanting to print.
This happened on my old chromebook and i have since bought a new chromebook (everything backed up to new one including printer name) and it is saying the same thing.
can anyone help???

Welcome to the HP Forums!
Thank you for posting your query on this forum, it's a great place to find answers.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details.
- When was the last time the printer was working fine?
- What is the exact model for your printer?
- Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?
- Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?
Look forward to hearing from you and you have a great day!
Take care.
Cheers!

Hello
I've had exactly the same problem working with a Samsung Chromebook, Chome OS, HP 4630 printer
The problem started a few weeks ago when Google carried out a regular update, this time involving printer settings. I have contacted Google but they have not replied. I have reset all my printer settings but to no avail - sometimes it works sometimes not! My solution is to turn my computer on in the following order:
Turn on computer and when running go to Chrome OS
Next turn on printer
Select an item to print and choose the print icon, If printer is about to work (and it should) your printer model will now be displayed, if not the screen will show a SAVE setting. Note, Google has changed the menu and you now must select colour or black ink setting and scroll down if you want to operate in 2 sided mode
Hope this helps.
