Unable to register the printer to your account
This printer is associated with another account. You can use this printer and the HP app to print, scan, copy, and more, but you will not have access to cloud features like Print Anywhere.
HP will provide information in the future when you can request access to use cloud features of this printer.
Error Code: UA_400_EB00000422
Save this code if contacting HP Support.
Above issue i am facing, I am deleted all connected devices already but still unable to connect the printer. Give me Solution please

Hi @RamakanthRavi,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
I know this is frustrating. You’ve brought the printer home, it hums to life, you can almost feel the paper glide… and then the HP App stops you with a stark message: “Unable to register the printer to your account. This printer is associated with another account … Error Code: UA_400_EB00000422.” You did the right thing by reaching out. I’ll explain why this happens and the exact steps to free the printer from the previous account so you can claim it under yours.
The HP path to reclaim the printer (step‑by‑step)
1) If you can contact the previous owner (fastest)
Ask them to:
- Sign in at my.hp.com (HP Account).
- Go to My Printers.
- Select your printer → Remove/Unregister it from their account.
- Wait 2–5 minutes, then in your HP App, choose Add printer and register it.
This is the cleanest, near‑instant fix described by HP agents for UA_400/UA_4xx errors.
2) If you cannot reach the previous owner
We can still help, just a couple of extra steps:
A. Do a Secure Erase / Factory Defaults (clears old web tokens on the printer)
This does not prove ownership by itself, but it often clears stuck setup states before we hand the case to HP Support.
- Print a Network Configuration Page (or check the printer’s IP address in your router’s client list).
- In a browser, open the printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS): http://<printer_IP>
- Go to Settings → Restore / Reset → Secure Erase or Restore All Factory Defaults (wording varies by model).
- Let the printer reboot, then try registering again in the HP App.
HP lists Secure Erase / Restore Defaults as a recommended step for account‑registration errors.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!
I'm an HP Employee.
