HP DeskJet 2755e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have set up my ink jet 2700e printer. All went well till I tried printing from my email. It would not. It prints documents from my files, but not from my email accounts or off the web. This is intolerable. H/P is useless for support. Wish my old Canon printer was working.

Hi @Gody5

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.

Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:

1. Check Email Attachment Settings

If you're trying to print an email directly, make sure that you’re printing an attachment or PDF file properly. Sometimes email clients or browsers don’t send print jobs to the printer in the same way as documents stored locally. Try these:

  • Open the email or attachment in a PDF viewer (e.g., Adobe Acrobat or Edge) and then try printing from there.
  • If you’re using Gmail or another email service, try downloading the attachment first and then print it.

2. Ensure Browser and Email Client Settings

If you're trying to print directly from a browser (e.g., printing an email from Gmail or another web-based service), the problem could be browser-related. Try printing from another browser to see if it makes a difference.

  • Check your default printer settings in the browser or email client.
  • Try right-clicking the email or webpage and selecting Print to see if that gives different results.

3. Check for Connectivity Issues

Since your printer works for local files but not from the web, the issue might be related to the network connection. Here are a few things to check:

  • Ensure your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer.
  • If you’re using Wi-Fi Direct or a mobile connection, try switching to a direct connection via USB to test if the issue persists.

4. Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers

Outdated or incorrect drivers could cause issues with printing from certain sources. Try reinstalling or updating your printer drivers:

  • Go to Device Manager > Printers > Right-click on your HP DeskJet 2755e > Select Update Driver.
  • Alternatively, visit HP’s official support page and download the latest drivers for your printer model.

5. Reset Printer and Reconnect

Sometimes, a simple reset can clear any miscommunication between your printer and computer.

  • Turn off your printer, unplug it from the power source, and leave it unplugged for about 30 seconds.
  • Plug it back in, turn it on, and then reconnect it to your computer or network.

6. Use the HP Smart App

Since you're using an HP printer, you might want to try using the HP Smart App to manage your printer. It can help troubleshoot issues and offer more print settings that might work better with your email or web printing.

  • Download the HP Smart App from the Microsoft Store (or from HP's website) and follow the setup process.

7. Check Printer Queues

Sometimes print jobs get stuck in the print queue, especially when printing from the web or email.

  • Open Devices and Printers > Right-click your printer > See what's printing.
  • If there are any stuck jobs, cancel them and try printing again.

8. Try Printing from a Different Device

As a final check, if you have access to another device (e.g., a smartphone or tablet), try printing the same document or email from that device. If it works, the issue is likely with your current computer settings, not the printer.

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
