I attempted to add an existing DeskJet 4155e printer driver to another household laptop. I downloaded the HP Smart Print driver, however I keep getting an error message each time I attempt to print a document. I scan a documents however I cannot print.??.

I understand you are facing an issue Printer will not print with your HP DeskJet 4155e All-In-One Printer.
Here are several steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve the issue with your HP DeskJet 4155e All-In-One Printer:
1. Check Printer Connection
Ensure the printer is properly connected to the laptop:
- For Wireless Connection: Make sure both the printer and the laptop are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- For USB Connection: Ensure the USB cable is properly connected to both the printer and the laptop.
2. Restart Devices
- Turn off the printer and the laptop.
- Unplug the printer from the power source.
- Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug the printer back in and turn it on.
- Restart the laptop.
3. Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers
Uninstall the Current Driver:
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click on your HP DeskJet 4155e printer and select Remove device.
- Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features and uninstall any HP printer software.
Download and Install the Latest Driver:
- Go to the HP Support website.
- Search for "HP DeskJet 4155e" and go to the drivers and software section.
- Download the latest HP Smart App and drivers for your operating system.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to install the drivers.
4. Check Print Queue
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.

- Ensure there are no stuck print jobs. If there are, right-click and cancel all documents.

- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.

- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to diagnose and fix the problem.
7. Check Printer Status and Settings
- Make sure the printer is not in an error state (e.g., out of paper, low ink, paper jam).
- Print a test page from the printer settings to ensure the printer itself is functioning properly.
8. Firewall/Security Software
- Temporarily disable any firewall or security software to see if it is blocking the printer communication.
9. Windows Troubleshooter
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
- Select the Printer and run the troubleshooter.

I had that printer.I also had the instant ink program . Having that program means that you will NEVER EVER be able to use any other ink except from the program!!!You are married to them as long as you have that printer. Sad to say anyone can do that but it will not print unless to continue to use their ink program
. Not even if you think you bought some HP ink from any store.Maybe this applies to uou. If not hope you found the solution!
