Hp envy photo 7858 - upon startup the printer is stuck in the loading stage. I have gone through the steps of unplugging, pressing start button, plugging back in but nothing works. How do you factory reset it?

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution. We hope our assistance has been helpful!

If your HP ENVY Photo 7858 is stuck on the loading stage and standard resetting methods haven't resolved the issue, performing a factory reset might help. Please note that a factory reset will erase all settings on the printer and restore it to its original state. Here’s how you can attempt a factory reset:

Factory Reset Instructions for HP ENVY Photo 7858

  1. Turn Off the Printer:

    • Make sure the printer is turned off before starting the reset process.
  2. Unplug the Power Cable:

    • Disconnect the power cable from the back of the printer and the wall outlet.
  3. Wait for 60 Seconds:

    • Keep the printer unplugged for at least 60 seconds to ensure that the device completely powers down.
  4. Press and Hold the Power Button:

    • While the printer is off, press and hold the power button on the printer for 15 seconds.
  5. Replug and Restart:

    • Reconnect the power cable to the printer and the wall outlet. Turn on the printer.
  6. Access the Support Menu:

    • Once powered on, try to access the printer’s menu by touching the setup icon (wrench icon) on the printer's touch screen if available.
  7. Perform a Full Reset:

    • Navigate to the "Settings" or "Tools" menu.
    • Look for a "Restore Defaults" or "Reset" option and follow the prompts to perform a factory reset.

Additional Troubleshooting Steps

  • Firmware Update: Ensure the printer's firmware is up to date by checking the HP support website for any updates.
  • HP Smart App: Use the HP Smart app to diagnose if there's any other issue present that might be causing the printer to freeze.

I hope this helps!

Take care and have an amazing day!
