Replaced my router with a new Netgear Nighthawk RS500 Tri Band WiFi7. My HP ENVY 5530 that is 11 years old won't connect. If I disable all security measures on the router it connects. But I can't leave it that way. Are there any firmware updates for the printer that might address the issue?
Additional info: The printer sees the router but can not connect.

I understand your HP ENVY 5530 won’t connect to your new Netgear Nighthawk RS500 Wi-Fi 7 router, the printer sees the network but never finishes connecting. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.
Use the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi band only
Older printers like the ENVY 5530 only support 2.4 GHz networks, not 5 GHz or 6 GHz.
Make sure your router’s 2.4 GHz band is enabled and broadcasting a distinct SSID.
Split Wi-Fi bands on your router
Many modern WiFi 7 routers combine all bands under one SSID by default.
Create separate network names for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz so the printer can connect specifically to the 2.4 GHz SSID.
Check wireless security settings
Older printers sometimes cannot connect to newer security types like WPA3.
Set the 2.4 GHz band security to WPA2-PSK [AES] only, this is the most compatible setting.
Disable Smart Connect on your router
Smart Connect automatically merges bands and can prevent legacy devices from joining.
Turn this off so each band (2.4 GHz, 5 GHz) has its own SSID and you can connect the printer to 2.4 GHz.
Restore network defaults on the printer
On the printer’s control panel, find Restore Network Defaults under Wireless settings.
After that, use the Wireless Setup Wizard to select the correct 2.4 GHz network and enter the password.
Reboot router and printer in order
First turn off the router, wait 60 seconds, then turn it back on.
After the router is fully up, restart the printer and run the Wireless Setup Wizard again.
Check for MAC filtering or firewall blocks
Some routers have MAC filtering or advanced firewall settings that block new devices.
Make sure MAC filtering is off or add your printer’s MAC address to your router’s permitted devices list.
I hope this helps.
