Hi @Help177,
Thank you for performing the recommended steps, I see that it has not helped.
Well, as far as the printer is working, no need to worry about the update.
However, if you are facing any other issues, due to the update, This might require one on one interaction to fix the issue

Hi @Help177,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd like to help!
Are you trying to update the Firmware directly from the printer control panel or are you downloading the Firmware from HP Website?
Please try downloading the Firmware from this link.
AntiVirus might block your Access to the EWS page.
Please disable the AntiVirus Temporarily and assign a Manual IP Address
- Print a Network Config Page from the printer. Note the printer's IP address.
- Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
- Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
- On this screen you want to set a Manual IP. You need to set an IP address outside the range that the router automatically sets (called the DHCP range). If you do not know the range, change the last set of numbers (those after the last '.') to 250
- Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it is different, if so, use that)
- Enter your router's IP (on the Network Config Page) for the gateway.
- Enter 8.8.8.8 for the first DNS and 8.8.4.4 for the second DNS. This is Google DNS.
- Click 'Apply'. and close the page
Go back to the EWS Page again and try the update
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Thanks for your help but once in the IP4 section I was told it was not a secure link but proceeded anyway! There were several rows of numbers the first range which was IP address had my IP address and I changed the last box to 250.
Another other was already populated with the 255.255 etc not sure if the other lines contained 8888 8844 but I proceeded and it failed. I now can't get onto that IP address again as it times out, on Safari and Chrome.
It's rather annoying, the printer works but it won'd download this update update runs and fails to download automatically, it was not an update I had run or checked for. Does it matter if the update isn't done?

Hi community!
I understand that your printer is trying to update the Firmware but without success. You can also try to update manually from your computer, in the link below you will have the instructions you need.
