HP DeskJet 2620 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi have recently bought a used deskjet 2620 printer and initially it connected fine to my laptop after setting up on hp smart app.

But I found an issue when coming to print. I found some information online that stated to factory reset the printer. After I have done this the printer is showing tri colours ink warning while also having WiFi light flashing blue.

Hi @Iggle,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP DeskJet 2620 All-In-One Printer is not going into setup mode, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the problem.

  • Check Power and Connections: Ensure that the printer is properly connected to a power source and that all the necessary cables are securely plugged in. If the printer doesn't have power, it may not respond as expected.
  • Restart the Printer: Sometimes, a simple restart can fix temporary glitches. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 30 seconds, and then plug it back in. Turn on the printer and see if it goes into setup mode.
  • Check Display Screen: If your printer has a display screen, make sure it is functioning correctly. If the screen is blank or not responsive, there may be an issue with the printer's hardware.
  • Reset the Printer: Perform a factory reset on the printer. Please note that this will erase any custom settings, and the printer will return to its default settings. The exact steps for a factory reset may vary depending on the printer model, so refer to the user manual for instructions.
  • Update Firmware (if possible): Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer model. Sometimes, outdated firmware can cause issues, and updating it may resolve the problem.
  • Check for Error Codes or Messages: If there are any error codes or messages displayed on the printer's screen or on your computer, note them down and look for solutions in the user manual or on the HP support website.
  • Connect via USB: If you are trying to set up the printer wirelessly, try connecting it via USB to a computer or mobile device during the setup process. This might help in identifying and resolving any wireless connectivity issues.
  • Check for Obstructions: Ensure that there are no physical obstructions, such as jammed paper, inside the printer that might be preventing it from going into setup mode.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
