HP Laserjet Pro 400 401n
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have been on this web site for 5 days now and still get the same message.  The site said that the drivers are unavailable and to try another piece of software.  Well, there are no other drivers available for this printer and I am tired of HP telling me that they are not available.  I was told to go to HP and download the universal pcl6 driver and unzip it. Run setup and it will be fixed. You have to use HP drivers. Nothing in Windows 10 works. The diagnostics never gives you correct information. The trouble shooter is useless as it does not look at what Microsoft broke in the update. The fix just released doesn't fix it. It has the registry screwed up so you have to remove all of the printer files then download the drivers and install them. Nothing should prevent you from installing the driver unless you don't have the rights. This may be the solution to my problem but I can't get the driver from HP due to their web site being unavailable.

Hi,

The drivers seem to be available in HP Support:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/COL42911/lj-104373-5/LJ-M401-full-solution-15189.exe

You may also have other options as HP UPD available:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-laserjet-pro-400-printer-m401-series/5096252/mod...

If no options are shown for you tet and any additional driver is required, clearing your browser cache or entering the HP site in Private / Incognito mode should list the drivers correctly.
