I have a Desk Jet 3630 and for some reason it now won't print pdf files, whether from my PC running windows 10 or my mobile phone.

Any ideas anyone?

Hi @TrevS,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP DeskJet 3630 won’t print PDF files from either Windows 10 or your mobile device. Let’s go through a few troubleshooting steps to isolate and fix the issue.

Check Printer Status and Connectivity

Make sure the printer is online and connected to Wi-Fi or USB.

Print a simple test page from the printer itself (Setup > Reports > Print Quality Report) to confirm the printer works.

Try Printing Another File Type

Open a Word document or image and print it.

If these print, the printer is fine and the issue is specific to PDFs.

Update PDF Reader / App

On Windows, make sure you’re using the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader or another PDF viewer.

On mobile, ensure your PDF app is updated.

Print as Image (Windows only)

Open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Click File > Print > Advanced > Print as Image.

This can bypass PDF rendering issues that prevent printing.

Update Printer Driver

Go to HP Support → DeskJet 3630 → Drivers & Downloads.

Install the latest full feature driver, not just Windows built-in driver.

Restart the PC after installation.

Check for Firmware Updates

In the HP Smart app or printer control panel, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Update Printer.

Some PDF printing issues are resolved by firmware updates.

Try HP Smart App / Cloud Print

If printing from mobile, use the HP Smart app to print the PDF instead of the default PDF viewer.

This often resolves format/driver conflicts.

I hope this helps.
