My printer is blinking crazy. It has worked for two years fine. My app is telling me it doesn’t have a hp instant ink account when it does. I log on my ho instant ink account and it says my computer isn’t connected to internet which it is. I’ve restarted everything and I’m still having the same issue.

Hi @209Melii,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
When your HP printer is blinking erratically and not recognizing your existing Instant Ink account, it can be due to a few different issues, such as connectivity problems, account issues, or printer settings. Here’s a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue:
1. Verify Internet Connection
Check Internet Access:
- Make sure your printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network and that your network is functioning properly.
- You can check the Wi-Fi status on the printer’s control panel or display.
Reconnect to Wi-Fi:
- On the printer, navigate to Settings > Network or Wireless Settings and reconnect to your Wi-Fi network.
2. Restart Devices
Power Cycle the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
Restart Your Router:
- Unplug your router, wait for about 30 seconds, and then plug it back in. Wait for it to fully restart and reconnect.
Restart Your Computer:
- Restart the computer or device you are using to manage the Instant Ink account.
3. Check HP Instant Ink Account
Log In to HP Instant Ink:
- Visit the HP Instant Ink website and log in to your account.
Verify Account Status:
- Ensure your subscription is active and there are no issues with your account.
Verify Printer Registration:
- Make sure your printer is registered with your HP Instant Ink account.
4. Reconnect Printer to Instant Ink
Update Printer Firmware:
- Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer. Firmware updates can sometimes resolve connectivity issues.
- You can usually check for updates from the printer’s settings menu or on HP’s support website.
Re-Add Printer to HP Account:
- Open the HP Smart app or HP Connected website.
- Remove the printer from your account and then re-add it.
- Follow the setup instructions to reconnect the printer to your HP Instant Ink account.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
