Hi @Stattb,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Officejet 4635 e-All-in-One Printer won’t turn on at all, follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue:
1. Check the Power Source
- Try plugging the printer into a different wall outlet that you know is working.
- Avoid using power strips or surge protectors; plug directly into the wall.
- Test another device (like a lamp or phone charger) in the same outlet to ensure it’s working.
2. Inspect the Power Cord & Adapter
- Check for damage: Look for any frayed wires, kinks, or cuts in the power cord.
- Ensure a secure connection: Firmly plug the power cord into both the printer and the wall outlet.
- If you have another compatible HP power adapter, try using it.
3. Perform a Power Reset
- Unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Press and hold the printer’s power button for 15 seconds (if applicable).
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet first, then into the printer.
- Try turning the printer on.
4. Check for a Faulty Power Module (Brick)
- If your printer has a power module (a brick in the middle of the cord), check if the LED indicator light on it is lit when plugged in.
- If there’s no light, the power supply might be faulty, and you may need a replacement.
5. Try a Different Power Cord
- The HP Officejet 4635 typically uses a 32V power adapter (check your power supply label).
- If you have another HP printer with the same power cord, try swapping it to see if the printer turns on.
6. Check for Internal Hardware Issues
- If none of the above steps work, the printer’s internal power supply or mainboard could be damaged.
- Unfortunately, repair costs might exceed the value of replacing the printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
