Printer stuck on the start up screen. The bar loads all the way but the dots will only go to two and stop. Its been stuck like that for hours. Wire has been disconnected from printer as well as from the wall for hours but as soon as i plug it back in, it does this same process of stopping at two dots. The screen and the off/on button is unresponsive and automatically starts up when connected to power.
I have new wifi so its not connected. I have the HP smart app but that does nothing. I cant find a physical hard reset button I've seen others talk about
I've been in a chat for the past hour - if u can call it that. Only asked for my issue, product details and if i have the app and a picture of the app home screen over the course of an hour.
The printer is barely used, it is a goner? Please help me :C

Hi @Sam22o2,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP Envy 5010 printer is experiencing a persistent issue with its startup process. Since you've already tried disconnecting the power and the wire, and even attempted using the HP Smart app without success, there might be a more serious hardware issue at play.
Here are a few additional troubleshooting steps you can try.
- Hard Reset: Even if you can't find a physical hard reset button, you can perform a hard reset by unplugging the power cord from the printer while it's on, waiting for about a minute, and then plugging it back in. This can sometimes clear up minor glitches.
- Firmware Update: If possible, try updating the printer's firmware. Sometimes, bugs in the firmware can cause startup issues. You might need to access the printer's settings menu for this, which can be tricky if the screen is unresponsive.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
