Hi @JDN1947,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I am sorry to hear that your printer's document feeder is unable to pick up the original documents, try the following troubleshooting steps:

Check for Obstructions:

  • Ensure there are no obstructions or debris in the document feeder. Remove any visible paper or foreign objects.

Re-load the Originals:

  • Ensure the original documents are loaded correctly in the document feeder. Make sure they are straight and not too damaged or curled.

Check Paper Type:

  • Make sure the paper type and size are compatible with the document feeder. Use standard paper sizes (like A4 or Letter) and avoid using papers that are too thick or thin.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Leave it unplugged for about a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on.

Check Printer Settings:

  • Ensure the scanner settings on your computer or printer are correctly configured for the document type you are trying to scan or copy.

Firmware Update:

  • Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer, which might resolve feeder issues.

Take care and have an amazing day!
