My printer says it is connected but when I try to add it on my pc, it says driver is unavailable. I've downloaded and installed the drivers numerous times. I keep getting the same response. The printer worked fine until I upgraded to windows 10. When I hit print it wants to send it to Onenote.  Sad thing is that I can't even talk to a HP rep because my warranty expired.

Welcome to HP Community

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

I suggest you uninstall the printer driver from root level and download the full feature software

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’
6.) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
8.) Click on the “Drivers” tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
13.) Restart the computer and download the Full Feature Software from Here and follow the onscreen Instructions

Keep me posted how it goes

Hi,

Thank you for the response. Printer still won't print. I followed all insturctions and it said the setup was complete. But, when I try to print something it wants me to save to a file rather than print. When I checked my settings (printer and scanner) it says the driver is unavailable. My printer was working fine until the DOT started repaving our street and knocked the internet out and at the same time I canceled my subscription to insta ink. But I bought new ink cartridges. The wirless icon on the printer has a strong signal and it is set up. This is awful.

I suggest you uninstall the printer driver from root level once again and reinstall the printer using the Windows Built-In driver

Hello,
