HP Envy 6032
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, hoping someone could help!

I have HP Envy 6032, and had no problem printing until recently not sure why. All other devices are still able to print so I am having issues with this PC. I have checked that the driver was updated. I have removed driver and reinstalled. I have uninstalled the printer and reinstalled, then restarted my computer etc. I feel I have done everything but obviously not. I have the HP smart app on the PC and it says 'ready' and all looks fine. Today I tried to print from the app to see if that would work but it just gets an error. I have downloaded 'HP print and scan doctor' but it could not detect anything along with 'HP support Assistant' that also could not find diagnostic and everything looked good until printing test page which then did not work. Someone please help, I am extremely frustrated at this point.

Thanks

Jess

Hi @J_J_P,

I'd like to help!

Let's try and uninstall the printer software from the root level on your PC and install the full feature printer software.

First, unplug the USB cable from the printer if present.

  • Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP printer entries and uninstall them.
    • Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
    • Restart your computer.
    • Click the bottom-left Start button on desktop, type device manager in the search box and tap Device Manager on the menu.
    • Once in device manager, click on the view tab in the top & choose “Show hidden devices”.
    • Then from the device manager list, check the entries under “Printer” – If there are any entries, please right click and choose “uninstall” – In the confirm device un-install pop-up, make sure you select the box which says “Delete the driver software for this device".
    • Also, check the entries under "printer queue" and "imaging devices" and repeat the same exercise. Delete any printer entry or any entry which says “Unknown device”.
    • Once done, close device-manger. Then press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" and press enter.
    • Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
    • Again, go running window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
    • Once done you can try cleaning out your temporary files and cached files. You can try using automated applications like some cleaner software's that you can download from the internet.
    • Now restart your computer again.
    • Open the Run window again, type “services.msc” and press ok to get services window.
    • Scroll down to “Remote Procedure Call (RPC)” – right-click and go to properties. Make sure the service is started and startup type is “Automatic”.
    • Now scroll up and go to “Function Discovery Provider Host” – right-click and select properties – Change the startup type to “manual” and start the service.
    • Repeat the same exercise on “Function Discovery Resource Publication” as well
    • Windows image acquisition stop and restart the service

Reinstall the drivers from Software and drivers page

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hello @Jay_G24

Thank you for your reply. I followed all the steps, some I was already famliar with, unfortunately it did not work.

At first it does print on the app, I mananged to print a pdf document but as soon as the printer is 'added' and installed to PC it has error printing and no longer works on the app or from any web browser. (I think it no longer works from the app because the printing is done from PC printing pop up (second pic) - sorry I dont know the name or if I am making any sence). On control panel the printer shows with a green tick so I am confused.

Below is a screenshot of error that displays on settings. In the begining it used to say 'Driver is Unavailable' even when I uninstalled and installed again, but now is says 'error'.

Are you still able to help?

I hope I have provided enough information and that it made some sence. Thanks again for your help!

Sorry I realise the pics did not go through, but I hope my description is sufficient. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do.

Hello Jay_G24

I tried but this did not work, it displays the message from before 'driver is unavailable'.

I am afraid me or my son deleted or changed something by accident, I can't think of what else it might be.

Thanks for your support, is there anything else I can try?

Kind Regards

J

We would have to connect the printer to TCP/IP port- follow the below instructions-

--->Touch on the wifi icon ((i)) on the printer, and take down the IP address

a. Click Start/Devices and Printers.  Right-click on your HP Printer.  Select Printer Properties.  Select the Ports tab at the top.

b.    Select Add Port.  Select Standard TCP/IP Port.  Select New Port.

c.    Follow the Add Port Wizard.  Under Printer Name or IP Address, .  Example:  192.168.1.15.  The IP address will be copied under Port Name.

d.    Select Next and Finish the Wizard.

 Try printing

Keep me posted

Hello,

I tried this and it printed something that was on the printing log but then gave error again when i tried to print another document or when printing from web browser.

Btw I couldn't take note of IP address as this printer does not have a screen and nothing happened when i pressed (i) then the wifi button, instead I used the 'Printer Information Page' (that I have from day I set printer up) that has all the details.

Is there anything else I should try?
