Welcome to the HP User Community.
There are several factors that impact printing envelopes.
It can get more complicated depending on your software, the method used to create the envelope, and the paper size.
Remember:
Do not print envelopes that are embossed, foil lined, too thick, include scalloped edges, or are otherwise not suitable.
Some of the "envelope" setup factors...
The Full Feature Software / full driver printer software should be installed

The size of the envelope -
This includes using Word to create a "document" of the envelope in the size and shape of the envelope
The Paper Size must be supported as a standard size or as a custom size

The manner in which the envelope is created impacts the setup.
Word > Mailings > Envelopes
This method is impacted by the software's limitation for size beyond the supported envelope paper size.
"Envelopes" have their own rules about size and shape.
What?
Even if a particular custom paper size is supported, the software might refuse to create the envelope if it is not tall enough.
IF this happens, you will see an error and a suggested size that the software can support.
Example - Word > Mailings > Envelopes - #10
Rabbits_and_Chickens_Test_Envelope_10_12
OR
Word > Document > Create document in size and shape of the envelope
Word can be used to create an "envelope" document.
- The margins cannot be less than "narrow" (else you will likely see an error for margins)
- The size and shape of the paper must be a supported or custom paper size
- The content can be mixed - that is a combination of text and imagery, including watermarks
Examples - Word - Document - Manual Envelope

Paper Size - Supported or Custom
If the size and shape of the envelope document is not a supported size,
If the printer software is installed,
If the printer supports Custom Paper Size forms,
Create a custom paper size form for your "envelope document"
