Printing greeting card sized 5.75' x 8.75' on my new HP Envy 6552e printer.  The printer has several options for size including some that are Japanese settings (one I found "close" is O**bleep**u Nagaki 148mm x 200 mm).  Since I do greeting cards frequently for half page fold, I want to set something up permanently with the proper setting to select every time I want to print a card.  Unable to find that.
I'm using Win10 and manually typing in the address in MS Word 2010; there I select the mailing option of "card or label".  This wasn't a problem with my HP Envy 6455e printer, but has me stumped with the newer printer.  Any help appreciated.

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding printing custom-sized greeting cards with your HP Envy 6552e printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Add a New Custom Paper Size

Open the Printer Properties:

  • Go to Control Panel.
  • Click on Devices and Printers.
  • Locate your HP Envy 6552e printer, right-click on it, and select Printer properties.

Configure the Custom Paper Size:

  • Go to the Advanced tab in the Printer Properties window.
  • Click on Printing Preferences.
  • In the Printing Preferences window, navigate to the Paper/Quality or Features tab (the tab name might vary).
  • Look for an option to set a custom or user-defined paper size.
  • Enter your desired dimensions: 5.75 inches by 8.75 inches.
  • Save these settings as a custom paper size.

Print a Greeting Card

Open Your Document:

  • Open the document you want to print in the application of your choice.

Select Your Custom Size for Printing:

  • Go to File -> Print.
  • Select Printer Properties or Preferences.
  • Choose your custom paper size from the list of available sizes.

Print Your Document:

  • Ensure all other settings (orientation, quality, etc.) are to your preference.
  • Click OK or Print to start printing.

I hope this helps.

Hi @cmacres,

Thank you for the response.

Let’s fix this step-by-step. Here’s what to do:

Add via Windows Print Server

Open Print Server Properties

Click Start → search Control PanelDevices and Printers.

Click any printer once → at the top click Print Server Properties (you’ll see it appear if you click any printer).

Create the Custom Form

In Print Server Properties, go to the Forms tab.

Check “Create a new form”.

Name it something like GreetingCard_5.75x8.75.

Enter your Width as 5.75 in and Height as 8.75 in (or vice versa, depending on orientation).

Click Save Form → click OK.

Use It in the HP Driver

Go back to your Print window (Word → File → Print → Printer Properties).

Under Paper Size (in Basic or Advanced tab), you should now see GreetingCard_5.75x8.75 in the dropdown.

Select it → Apply → Print!

If Not Showing, Use Advanced Tab

In some HP drivers:

Go to the Advanced tab (in your screenshot, it’s next to Basic and Document).

Look for Paper Size drop-down there.

See if it now includes the custom form you created via Print Server.

If yes, select it → Save → Print.

Workaround in Word

If Windows won’t push the custom form to the HP driver:

In Word, go to Page Layout → Size → More Paper Sizes.

Set Width = 5.75, Height = 8.75 → Save as a custom page size.

Make sure your document matches the paper you loaded in the tray.

Choose “Use printer settings” under Paper Source when printing.

Save as Preset

Once your custom size works:

In the HP driver, use the Preset drop-down (shown in your screenshot as Fast/Economical Printing).

Click the 3 dots → Save As New Preset → name it Greeting Card 5.75x8.75.

Next time, just select your saved Preset!

I hope this helps.

These last instructions were too difficult to follow so I opted for choosing "custom size" and adjusting the measurements to fit the envelope.  If I have to do it every time then that's what I'll do.  Thank you for your help anyway.  No need to reply.
