I have a HP Office jet Pro 9015, and I print a lot of photos for our church photo club from a Dell Deskstop XPS with 32 Gg RAM. The photos I print from the HP Smart App are good quality on the HP but not the excellent quality I'm getting from my Epson Expression Premium XP-7100. I'm saying "usually" because I once found a setting that did print out that excellent quality. Instead of printing out gradually in small "steps" when printing, the HP 9015 took just two very smooth steps to print out the "Epson-like" quality I was looking for. Unfortunately, I was not able to duplicate that setting again. So why don't I just use the Epson? The Epson ink is very expensive, and I subscribe to the HP Instant Ink Program. Any help or hints that you can provide will be very much appreciated. Thanks, Mike D

It's difficult to guess which software / application you are using to print.
There are the "main" options, of course:
- Any printing software that depends on the installation of the Full Feature Software / full driver printer software
- HP Smart (Windows)
- HP Smart Printing - Print documents / images using a newly formatted GUI
- Image printing provided by Windows, for example, Windows Photos
Each of the methods provides access to "Best Quality" --
I don't have any idea whether the "Best Quality" selection provides "smooth" print action or not. Essentially, "Best Quality" is slower, applies more ink, and -- sure - "Best" might result in a smooth (as opposed to "stepping") output when the newly printed image is leaving the printer.
One of the likely candidates to overall better results is to use a photo editing / print software that includes full quality control to reproduce your excellent photos as excellent printed images.
The following example requires that the Full Feature Software / full driver printer software is installed.
Irfanview > Brilliant Free Photo Viewing, Editing, and Print Software
Irfanview provides an exceptional software experience that can be used for a variety of scan and print tasks, including the “Mirror” or horizontal flip function plus several other options not found elsewhere.
Irfanview can resize / resample / control color, quality, depth / create contact sheets, Tiles...
- Create a Restore Point (optional, recommended)
- Download the appropriate version (32bit or 64bit) of the program from the Website and install the program
- Additional information at the website, including: FAQ
NOTES
- Both 32bit and 64bit versions for Windows are available.
- Irfanview is also available as an Windows 10 Application from the Microsoft Store

How to find Help within the Irfanview software
Once installed, open the software > tab Help
