LaserJet Pro MFP M148fdw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi!

I'm new with this LaserJet Pro MFP M148fdw coming from  a HP OfficeJet 8500 Pro. Before printing I almost every time used the PrintPreview of the OJ printer driver in each and every programme.

Print Preview is not available in the driver of my new laserjet. Can anybody help here? HP's printer support could not! They said that this function seems no longer be integrated in the driver.

Thanks in advance for helping me.

Greetings!

Wolfgang

Welcome to the HP User Community.

This is likely the case - that is, Print Preview is available in the various applications and programs you use to view, set up, and submit a job to the printer.

Not sure about laser printer software in particular, the general change to move print preview out of the driver was made some years back (beginning or perhaps during the early Windows 7 era?).

Examples

  • Print Preview is part of the Full Solution Software > HP Scan.
  • Having installed the full driver printer software, Print Preview is available when printing from Office software - for example, from Word > File > Print
  • Print Preview is integrated into your browser(s).

Is there a way to retrieve "what was before"?

Maybe - if you can find an old enough driver that would still run the printer while still providing access to the features.

I do not personally have a recommendation using for the "old driver" approach.
