Happy with my OfficeJet Pro 7730. £149 well spent.

I'm printing high colour A3 borderless digital paintings onto silk photo paper.

Although I'm relatively happy with the prints, some fine details are missing. I have tried the 'Fine' print setting but the ink smudges and floods when printing.

Does anyone know...

1. What the 'Fine' setting is for?

2. Why it is smudging and how to avoid it?

3. Whether the 'Fine' setting will bring out some of those details that are lacking?

I realise the prints are never going to look as good as they appear on a backlit laptop screen but any advice as how to get the best prints would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you are getting print quality issues, I am here to assist you.

Here is the list of media types this printer supports:-

Make sure you use one of these media types for better print quality.

Here are the steps to improve the print quality.

  1. Open a document, click File, and then click Print.

    The Print window opens.

  2. Select the Paper Type/Quality or Media & Quality menu.

  3. Depending on your print job, you might consider modifying the following settings:

    • Paper type: If one of the options matches your paper type exactly, select that option.

    • Quality: If you are dissatisfied with the quality of your printouts, increase the print quality

  4. To save your settings for future print jobs, select Save in the Presets menu and then name the new preset.

  5. Try to print.
