My printer prints one-sided only. I've checked the printer settings, and it says "On" for "print both sides."

@Meliponula, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

It sounds like there might be an issue with the printer driver settings that need to be manually enabled for two-sided printing. Follow the steps below to resolve the issue:

Search for Printers & Scanners in Windows.

Click on Printers & Scanners.

Select your printer, HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281fdw, and then click Manage.

Click Printer Properties.

Go to the Device Settings tab.

Under Installable Options, ensure Duplex Unit: Not Installed is changed to Duplex Unit: Installed.

Clicking Device Settings

Click Apply, and then OK.

Open Printers & scanners again and select your printer.

Click Manage and go to Printing Preferences.

Under the Basic tab, for the Two-sided Printing option, select either Flip on Long Edge or Flip on Short Edge.

Selecting Flip on Long Edge or Flip on Short Edge

Click OK and try printing again.

If the settings are correct and you are still facing issues, ensure that your printer firmware and driver are up-to-date. You can visit the HP Customer Support website for the latest updates and troubleshooting articles related to your printer model.
