@TonyD78, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Get the WPS PIN (on the printer screen)
The WPS PIN is not printed on the printer—it is dynamically generated by the printer and shown on the screen for a short time.
Steps to find it:
On the printer control panel, touch the Wi-Fi icon or go to Settings > Network Setup > Wireless Settings.
Look for an option like Wi-Fi Protected Setup.
Choose WPS (PIN) method.
The printer will display an 8-digit PIN on the screen.
Use this PIN within 90 seconds on your computer when prompted.
Alternative: Use HP Smart App
If you want to set up without the WPS PIN:
Download the HP Smart app from HP Smart.
Open the app and click + Add Printer.
Follow the setup process. The app will:
Detect the printer on your network
Help you configure Wi-Fi without needing to enter a WPS PIN
Install drivers automatically
Reset Wireless Settings (if needed)
If your printer is stuck or not showing up:
On the printer’s screen, go to Settings > Network Settings > Restore Network Settings.
This resets Wi-Fi settings so you can set it up fresh.
Now go through HP Smart again to reconfigure.
Also, you may refer to this guide: Find the wireless network password or PIN to connect an HP printer | HP® Support
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.
