I recently made w10 upate (vers 2004).
Now i reinstalled my hp3834 but i'm not able to see my fax unit in w10 printer settins. so i can't fax documents direcrly from w10 office word and similar software. in printer choice i see only microsoft fax.
In the past the fax worked correctly.
I used HP Smart and the fax WORKS fine offline and the fax test PASSED
in w10 settings i have the wireless 3834 printer correctly configured.
Than i have a 27B1FF (HP officejet 3830 series) but it says "driver unavaiable)!
can you help me?

Hi grazie,
What exact error appears in the print queue when trying to print using Black Cartridge only? (e.g. Error, Attention Required, etc.)
Try following below version of the HP Print and Scan Doctor Utility by selecting your printer:
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/hppsdr/patches/HPPSdr.exe
Be sure to restart your PC and allow the utility to complete the process, then check for any difference.
Try printing and check for any change, if the same remains try printing using the newly added print queue copy (Copy1) and check for any difference.

Make sure your Windows is fully up to date first, latest updates resolved several issues lately:

Next, follow HP Easy Start to install the HP Basic or Full Feature software, which include fax from PC capabilities:
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/HPEasyStart_11_5_4644_17.exe

Thank you very much for support.
the problem is unsolved and i'm very unhappy.
For many years i used this printer with no problem and faxing correctly
For problems of windows update i was unable to choice black cartridge in printing.The last windows updade solved the problem.
Then i tried to fax but i had problem exposed to you.
Then i followed your suggestions downloading HPEasyStart_11_5_4644_17 and OJ3830_Full_WebPack_1119.
I used C:\Program Files\HP\HP OfficeJet 3830 series\Bin\" to configure fax and test pass in every phase.
but i don't see a HP fax unit in windows settings and in programs as microsoft word.
hp print and scan doctor now see a:
HP office jet 3830 serie with his own ip address
HP office jet 3830 serie (copy 1) usb
and HP27B1FF with a number (i think exadecimal address)
the program ask me to solve scanning and printing problem that i haven't.
This tries was in an administrator account.
i noted had never 32/64 software choice. My hp notepad is 64 bit.

Fax problem solved:
I used HP uninstall software and used control panel to remove:
-HP3830 series Help
-HP3830 Base Software
Then i launched
-hp easy start
-OJ3830_Basicx64_1119
so i had fax working well.
Be carefull to choice 64 bit software

Now i have a strange problem i had some time ago:
If i print on 3830 netwok printer i haven't the possibility to print with black cartridge only.
This problem was solved with last may microsoft update.
Now, after this new installation, again with 3830 netwok printer i haven't the possibility to print with black cartridge only
can help me?
